Looking for Signs of Growth (2)

Last night was probably the coldest night of the winter season when temperature dropped to almost single digit. In the morning, I went out for a short walk and was very surprised to see that a cluster of daffodil shoots had just edged out of the freezing, barren ground. Is spring just around the corner?

Rhododendrons are probably the most hardy and vigorous plants around the yard -- their leaves always green, their flower buds always exhibiting vibrant energy, as if they are going to blossom any time.
